A general sequence of operation is as follows, the lamps are loaded into pucks which are indexed into the machine, they are then picked up and loaded into a pallet which moves around to the aging lanes where the lamps are lit for an hour whilst travelling down the lane.

At the end of the lane each lamp is tested with colour cameras to determine if they are within specification, they are then sent round to an off load station where the lamps are off loaded to an indexing area where the lamps are allowed to cool down for four hours.

After cooling the lamps are loaded into a strike test area where they are then tested, they are then loaded back onto a pallet which goes down a final ten minute light-up phase after which the lamps are unloaded onto the appropriate lane on the outfeed conveyor. All the test results are recorded in an SQL database.
